Nadine Scaggs

Nadine Scaggs, 18, of Havana, died Sunday, November 18, 1979 as a result of injuries she sustained in a one-car accident Saturday night on Quiver Beach Road one-quarter mile north of the Havana-Forest City Blacktop.

Scaggs, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at 3:55am Sunday in the trauma unit of St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL after she was transferred from Mason District Hospital earlier.

Nadine Scaggs leaves her parents; one daughter, Amber, at home; twelve brothers and sisters - eight sisters: Mary Nalley of Leroy, Louise Williams, Big Springs, TX, Beulah Spinner, Daisy Roberts and Brenda Smith, all of Havana, Velma Morris, Atlanta, Donna Berner, Bloomington, and Vickie Frantz, Normal; four brothers:  John Scaggs, Jr., Clinton, Edward and Guy, both of Havana, and Earl of Leroy, IL. 

Services were held on Tuesday, November 21, 1979 at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana.  The Rev. Ray Beard officiated.  Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
