I remember riding around with Perry, looking for a gas cap for a fellow Volkswagen owner to steal. It was so outrageous & rebellious and totally Perry's idea. It was a very very fun night. From what I remember of it!
When Perry came to our school, no one knew him. He and I bonded over playing some guitar. Perry had this way of making you feel like you knew him for years. He was funny, sometimes not intentionally.
I remember when he was leaving to go back to the Virgin Islands. He was leaving the country and hadn't packed a thing. It took hours trying to get him set to go, probably wouldn't have taken so long if we weren't drinking too. He was a great guy and I agree with Scott, once you met Perry it seemed like you always knew him. He and his family were so nice. I remember running into his father shortly after the accident. Always wonder why such bad things happen to nice people.
Althletic abilities galore, to see him play soccer was astonishing. He also had a terrific philosophy on life, which may have been inspired by the funny smelling tobacco he quite often shared with his friends (I don't inhale). Was a sad day when he left our earthly way. Keep strumming Perry! See you at the Marley fest in the sky. Marty
