WALTER JOSEPH KORBE

JULY 24, 1955 - MARCH 6, 2007

Walter “Joe” Korbe, 51, Hays, died Tuesday, Mach 6, 2007. 

He was born July 23, 1955, in Hays to Walter A and Wilma Jean (McIntosh) Korbe.  He graduated from Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in 1973.

He worked for Stegmeier Painting, Nate’s Painting and recently in construction.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home, a daughter, Jacki Klug and husband, Tyler, Claflin; his mother and step-father, Jean and Fred Berger, Hays; a sister, Debra Jean Noffsinger and husband, Clayton, Great Bend; a step-sister, Babette Kinderknecht and husband, Dan, Chandler, Ariz.; two step-brothers, Brent Berger and Brad Berger, both of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two grandchildren, Desarai and Jacyler Klug, Claflin; and his beloved dog, Frankee.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, William Allen Korbe.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Celebration Community Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m Thursday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays.

Memorials are suggested to an education fund for his grandchildren in care of the funeral home.
