Arthur Jackson

The Argus--Fremont-Newark, Calif.; Monday, June 16, 1975

Fremont

A body found in Alameda Creek Friday has been identified as Arthur Jackson, 23, of 706 Martin Ave., Hayward. He had nine stab wounds in the neck and chest. The coroner's office said Jackson probably died Tuesday, although he had not been in the creek that long.

Robbery was apparently not a motive as he had money in his wallet when discovered by a fisherman.

On Saturday, three friends of Jackson's, members of his mental therapy group, came to police with a steak knife they said they found in Niles Canyon. They said they found the knife 100 yards east of a railroad tunnel where Jackson used to go to "think". There were no signs of a struggle where the knife was found, police said.

Jackson's car, a yellow 1967 Chevrolet, was found parked near the entrance to what used to be Joyland Park on the creek. It contained a sleeping bag and a cook stove. No arrests have been made.
