Christopher M. Newman

Christopher M. Newman died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009.

Chris was born on Feb. 13, 1970, the son of Edith M. and Marvin L. Newman, in Helena.

He graduated from Helena High School in 1989. Chris was married to Kelly Spaulding in 1994, and the couple had three sons, Casey, Josiah and Austin.

Chris was a terrific father who had a great sense of humor. He gave of his time freely and often whether it was fishing, the Boy Scouts or taking his sons to baseball and football games. Chris and his boys loved watching NASCAR racing on Sunday. His friends were many, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Winford Wells and Ursula Newman.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly; sons, Casey, Joey and Austin; his mother and father, Edith and Marvin; his grandfather, Luther “Red” Newman; his brothers, Edward and Brian; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m. at Forestvale Cemetery with a reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
