November 19, 1946 - April 9, 2017

On the evening of April 9, 2017 Garry Leroy Knapstad passed away comforted by his family at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena.

Garry was born in Helena, Montana on November 19, 1946. Garry was the first born into a six child family of Dorothy and Paul Knapstad.

Garry graduated from Helena High School in 1965, he then enlisted in the Army, furthering his military service in the National Guard. Attending the College of Great Falls Garry was part of the NAIA National Bowling team in 1973. Joining the Civil Service with the Rivet Mile Garry worked on many Air Force bases around the northwest before retiring.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Paul Knapstad, a brother Clifford, sister Nadean. He is survived by brother Roger Knapstad, sisters Patty Riphenberg and Sandy Gresh and two sons Ken Knapstad and Karl Van Ummersen.
