Deborah Mae McKay (Feisthamel)

Deborah Mae Feisthamel, 31, 318 E. Riggs, East Helena, died in a Billings hospital Monday afternoon following a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 12, 1946, in Great Falls, to Robert and Melba McKay.  She graduated from Helena High School in 1965.

She married Richard L. Feisthamel, July 10, 1971.  They made their home here until moving to Colstrip in 1975.  In 1977, they returned to Helena, moving only recently to East Helena.

In high school she was the state Voice of Democracy winner and represented Montana in Washington, D.C. in the national contest.  She was active in MYF while in high school. 

Mrs. Feisthamel had been employed at the Super Save grocery until her recent illness.

She was a member of the Florence Crittenton Auxiliary and of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Feisthamel; a daughter, Brandee Danielle; her father, Robert H. McKay; her mother, Melba McKay; and stepmother, Joyce McKay, all of Helena; a brother, David McKay; three stepsisters, Valee, Vicki and Dawn; and a stepbrother Joe; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. McKay, Helena; grandmother, Mrs. Amy Simmons, Baton Rouge, La; father-in-law, George Feisthamel, Colstrip; mother-in-law, Minnie Feisthamel, Billings, and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel R. McKay in 1968.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Retz Chapel with the Rev. George Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery.
