William Thomas Miller

William T. Miller, 61, of Canyon died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Fort Worth.

Memorial services with military honors will be in Helena, Mont. Arrangements are by Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Bill was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Helena to Thomas and Bertha Miller. A longtime resident of Canyon, Bill was employed by Mesa Petroleum in Amarillo. He was a graduate of the University of Montana and West Texas State University, where he earned an M.B.A. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Palo Duro Kiwanis Club and served as the past lieutenant governor of the Texas/Oklahoma District. He also served on the board of the WT Catholic Student Center and was an avid marathon runner.

Bill was a commissioned armor officer in the U.S. Army, and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Survivors include his wife Susan of Canyon; a son, Jason and wife Delene of The Colony; two daughters, Joanna Miller of Chicago and Lauren Jenkins and husband Warren of Geneva, Ill.; a grandson, William Jenkins of Geneva; a sister, Marilyn Miller of Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother Richard Miller of Denver.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Children's Miracle Network of Amarillo, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106; or Building Fund, St. Ann's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 59, Canyon, TX 79015.
