Coree P. Maxson, 520 Linden, Excelsior, died July 1 in Methodist Hospital after accidentally drowning in the Minnesota River.

Mrs. Maxson was born in Helena, Mont.  She attended the University of Montana in Missoula and graduated with honors.  After graduation she spent one year in Austria.

Mrs. Maxson was a member of the Minnetonka Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband, Michael P. Maxson; son, Carver; mother, Mrs. Ward Thompson, Helena; father, U.S. Army Col. (Ret.) George O'Connell, Santa Cruz, Cal.; father-in-law, Donald Maxson, Richfield; mother-in-law, Esme' Maxson, Richfield; brother-in-law, Kent L. Maxson, Eagan; and sister-in-law, Kathie Carlson, Minneapolis.

Memorial services were July 3 at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel, Richfield, and July 6 at Helena.
