James David “Jim” Soderberg

James “Jim” David Soderberg, 74, Duluth, passed away Friday, January 14th in his home.

Jim was born June 8th 1947 to Vernon and Dorothy Soderberg in Glendive, MT. A season spent as a Merchant Mariner marked the beginning of a lifelong love for travel and adventure.

In 1968, he married Lynne Carol Morrison, in Helena, Montana. He became committed to many social justice issues, a passion that would remain with him throughout his life.

Jim retired as the director of CHUM in 2013. He remained an avid lover of the outdoors until the end of his life.

Jim is survived by his three sons; Han, Tomas (wife Angela), and Kai (wife Mariah); grandkids Emma, Liam, and Milos; his brother, John; and close friend Meg Kearns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 30th at Peace Church. The service will be viewable at www.peaceucc.org. Memorials may be made to CHUM.
