Wayne Lester Steffan

Wayne L. Steffan of N. Thomas St., Carlsbad, NM, passed away on June 21, 2024 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and a Rosary and Mass service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Military honors will be performed by Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Fort Harrison Veterans Cemetery in Helena, Montana. There is no visitation cremation has taken place.

Wayne Lester Steffan was born on October 20, 1946 to Willard L. Steffan and Marjorie Ellen Parker Steffan in Helena, Montana. Wayne L. and Myrna Williams Steffan were married May 31, 1968, in Helena, Montana. They made their home in Helena until moving to Las Vegas, NM in 1979.

They made several moves between Montana and New Mexico throughout the years before making Carlsbad, NM their permanent home in December 1997. Wayne was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the US Air Force.

He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. He was a Member of The Knights of Columbus; 4th Degree, Carlsbad Council 2719.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrna Steffan and his parents.

He is survived by his sons Wayne V. Steffan, Michael and wife Natalie Steffan.
