Myrna Carol (Williams) Steffan

March 5, 1947 – October 9, 2018

Myrna Carol Steffan, 71, of N. Thomas St., Carlsbad, NM, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Good Life Senior Living in Carlsbad. Cremation has taken place and Vigil, Rosary and Mass service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Fort Harrison Veterans Cemetery in Helena, Montana. Services have been entrusted to West Funeral Home. Myrna Carol Williams Steffan was born to Edgar and Margaret (Bracha) Williams on March 5, 1947 in Valentine, Nebraska. She was raised and educated in Norfolk, NE before moving to Helena, Montana where she graduated from Helena Senior High School with the Class of 1965.

Wayne L. and Myrna Williams Steffan were married May 31, 1968 in Helena, Montana. They made their home in Helena until moving to Las Vegas, NM in 1979. They made several moves between Montana and New Mexico throughout the years before making Carlsbad, NM their permanent home in December 1997.

Myrna spent the beginning of her life growing up on the farm and she remained a farm girl at heart throughout her life. She enjoyed baking, quilting, doing hand embroidery as well as volunteering as greeter at St. Edward Catholic Church, where she was a member for many years.

Myrna is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Wayne L. Steffan and sons: Wayne V. Steffan, both of Carlsbad and Michael and wife Natalie Steffan of Lancaster, CA; brother Ed Williams and sister Sharon Williams, both of Helena, Montana and sister Linda Williams of Vancouver, WA.
