When Sandra Kay Jackson was born on June 24, 1947, her father, Walter, was 28, and her mother, Mary, was 25. She married James L Palmer and they had two children together, Kimberly and Doug. She had two grandchildren by Kimberly and her husband Greg Smith, Courtney and Nathan). Nathan was holding her hand when she died on October 28, 2024, in Oceanside, California, at the age of 77.

She graduated HUHS in 1965.

She was involved in so many activities there. She was a cheerleader, a song, leader, many sports and involved with student council.

She maintained an A minus average or better during her four years at Hemet High. Continued diligence in applying native intelligence has brought the students to have reached  the pinnacle of their high school career. Their averages are based on total performance and, therefore, indicate all around achievement. This attainment will serve these students in greater performances as the curtain opens on the acts of their future. She married and moved to Torrance where her children were born She attended UC Berkeley and the San Diego State. She then married and moved to Torrance where her children were born. She moved back to Hemet and lived there many years.

During her final months, she was visited by many of her best friends including her family and Jill, Susan, Diane—and me of course πŸ’œπŸ’š. I talked to her on the phone regularly. We kept in close touch all of our lives. She was cared for years and the whole time before she entered the hospital her daughter, Kim. Kim, Martha and Billy did the heavy lifting at the end.

Kimberly wrote this:

For those of you haven't yet heard, Mom passed at 10:03 this am Monday Oct. 28th.

Nathan had made it down in time and was with her holding her hand as she passed away. She was not alone. Appeared very peaceful, calm and not in any pain.

Thou her remaining year's were tough. She was loved by many and lived large for more than 7-decades! (I can really attest to that!!πŸ’šπŸ’œ)

This is a note from Martha (Brown) and Billy Franke.:

We will miss our Cousin Sandy.

She fell and broke her hip in July, got covid while in Rehab, and was suffering from dementia.

She passed peacefully yesterday.

We will miss her laughter, her big grin and her free spirit.

She is truly free now.πŸ’”♥️

She was loved so much by so many.

She was my BFF since 6th grade. . She moved back to Hemet and lived there many years.

I am truly saddened to hear of Sandra's passing.  She was always friendly, cheerful, and approachable.  I wish I could have had more contact with her after high school.  She will always live in my mind.
