Jean Fraser (McCorkle)
Mel was a great guy. Always nice to everyone.Vern Luna
he was a kind, hard worker, always worked hard at winning, on wrestling team, you could feel he was a gentle soul.
Nick Hidek
I was so suprised to read about Mel. I was on the wrestling team with him. He was a very nice, easy to get along with guy. Lots of energy and a hard worker. I was very sad to read about his dying in Viet Nam. My brother and sister also knew him well and liked him very much.
Dan Dressler (Dressler)
Mel's name appears on the 1st Reconaissance Battalion Memorial at the United States Marine Corps Museum in Triangle, Virginia near Quantico. Mel was one of the Good Guys.
