It is always so sad to hear about another classmate from the great class of 65 who is no longer with us. I did not know her well but I do so much hope she had a happy life and now will rest in peace.

I Just found out of the passing of Cheryl Sterkel Olynick in Las Vegas ,NV approximately between February and March of 2025. She was born April 20 and had one brother Mike who was older. Ive been trying to get more info from Las Vegas Coroner but they are not forthcoming. I know she was having many physical problems and other issues. She moved from Hemet to Idyllwild right around her graduation and we became good friends for a while having worked together at The Alpine Pantry Restaurant in Fern Valley together.

When Cheryl Elaine Sterkel was born on April 20, 1947, in San Diego, California, her father, Hal, was 26, and her mother, Mildred, was 29. She had an older brother; Mike (1945) They lived in Idlewild during their high school years.
Cheryl married Nicholas K Olynick on June 19, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in: Ontario, Upland, Victorville, Temecula, Whittier, Apple Valley, and finally in Pasadena. Nick currently lives in Bullhead City, AZ
She died in 2025 in Las Vegas at the age of 78.
