What a great guy. Mostly a shy guy. Saw him a couple of times at school in N.C. Tubaugh

Grace Beale (Weible)

My husband (Wayne A. Weible - JAX-65) wrote the following about Karl in 2014 when we learned of his passing:

"I knew Karl from Springview Elementary School in Miami Springs.  Karl and I were good friends in grade school.  Back then, springtime brought thoughts of marbles and most grade school boys took a pucker string bag of marbles to school and at every opportunity - before school; during recess and after school, there would be circles drawn in the dirt and young boys hundered down around that circle doing their best to take home more marbles than they had brought with them.  Karl didn't lose very many marbles.

If you look back through the decades and squint your eyes, it's funny sometimes, the odd little bits of memories that float up through the mists of time and become as clear as a button hook in the well water.  One of those things I'm remembering just now is that Karl had the hairiest forearms of any grade school kid I had ever seen and in cold weather those hairs fluffed out.  Karl always said that was why he didn't need a jacket to keep warm.  No matter how cold it got, I don't remember ever seeing Karl wear a jacket of any kind - he always wore a T-shirt.

Karl was good at sports and I was not, so by the time we got to Jr. High School, we were taking different paths, making new friends, broadening our horizons.  I didn't see much of Karl in those years and by the time high school came along, Karl went to Hialeah; I went to Jackson and I lost track of him altogether.

Years later, my wife and I were truly saddened to hear of his untimely passing.

Karl was a good friend."
