Bob was a great guy. Smart, had to carry me In Mr. Dolan' class a couple of times. You'll be missed brother, but will see you again, Tubaugh

Bob Godfrey and I were best friends, almost inseparable when growing up through graduation from HHS. He was best man at my wedding (after I graduated from the USMMA and living in Queens, NY---flying up from Hialeah specially to be there for me. He and Ruth visited me a few times afterwards when I was working for an engineering firm in NYC. Unfortunately, and regrettably we lost touch and I spent the past 20+ years trying to locate and renew contacts with Bob but with no luck. This is what made the news about his passing all the more depressing for me.

Bob was a special person...always kind to everyone, always a smile and friendly greeting, never speaking badly about anyone. He was also an excellent athlete and we played together on many Bright Park teams.

May God bless Bob and may he give Ruth and and his family peace during these difficult times.  I love you, good buddy.

Your friend forever,

Larry

I would like to echo the thoughts from Larry. Bob was a kind person without any guile. We grew up together from elementary school through junior college. I too lost contact with Bob when Work took me to California, France and Kentucky. My condolences to his see wife, Ruth, and his children. May we all have the blessing of being reunited in the future.

Bob Godfrey wasn't my best friend, but Bob Godfrey was everybody's best friend. That's why I remember him so well and regret his passing.  As others have said here, he always had a kind word for everyone and was never in a bad mood. So sorry I lost contact with him in the pre-Internet era. The last time I saw Bob was at Miami International Airport in the late 1960s. I was working there as a baggage handler for the summer and having a particularly bad day. Guess who came to our employee lounge to cheer me up and get me back on my feet? Bob Godfrey. RIP, Robert.
