Peter passed away eight or so years ago when cancer caught up with him.  I remember visiting him when he gave college a try in the fall of '65.  "Hey, let me play a great new record for you!" he said.  It was the first time I heard Bob Dylan.   In 1970 I visited him at an Alabama army base where he was training to be a photo reconaissance technician.  We drove through a rainstorm for cigarates (he was always happiest with a drink and a smoke) in his car that had no windshild wipers. "The Army doesn't pay me enough to afford 'em", he explained.  Fortunately, we made it back to his trailer alive. While he never quite found his place and got into trouble now and then, he always carried his guitar and looked for answers "blowin' in the wind".
