Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Montie Lail Jr. HICKORY Charles "Chuck" Montie Lail Jr., 43, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at his residence. Born July 16, 1969, in Portsmouth, Va., he was the son of Montie and Linda Lail, of Hickory. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Mountain View, and served on the production team at the church. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Earl Hefner, and Charlie Lail; a grandmother, Precious Lail; and an uncle, Steve Lail. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Ashten Lail; son, Zachary Lail; sister, Paula (Lail) Dagenhardt and husband, Shawn, of Hickory; brother, Todd Lail and wife, Yalanda (White) Lail, of Taylorsville; nephews, Lance, Jake, Cole, Grayson; nieces, Lindsay, and Leah; and grandmother, Pauline Hefner. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles Kyker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made in his honor to Christ United Methodist Church, 2416 Zion Church Rd., Hickory, NC 28602, or Catawba County Humane Society, P.O. Box 63, Hickory, NC 28603.
