Mark W. Davis

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Mark Warren Davis, 37, passed away Dec. 3, 2006, in Greenville. Mr. Davis grew up in Hickory, N.C., and was involved in various activities including Boy Scouts, Hickory Seahorse swimming and other athletics. He attended Hickory High School until his family moved to Smyrna, Ga., where he graduated from Wills High School in 1988. Mr. Davis attended University of Georgia, where he participated on the Georgia Bulldog swim team. He graduated in 1992 and began a career in restaurant management and ownership in Atlanta. Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mark and Rae Davis of Hickory, N.C.; and Jack and Virginia Hyatt of Glen Alpine, N.C. He is survived by his parents, Laura and Larry Davis of Greenville; two sisters, Virginia Crews of Greenville and Scottye Davis of Atlanta, Ga.; one nephew; and one niece. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Advent United Methodist Church in Simpsonville, S.C. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Davis' remains were cremated. McAfee Funeral Home, Greenville, handled the arrangements.
