I attended Milwaukee Downer Seminary boarding school for my Jr. and Sr. year. Then went to Sarah Lawrence and Northwestern University. I married Richard Hokin in 1963-73. We went to Princeton and became one of the first couples allowed to matriculate at Princeton University. After Princeton we lived and travelled on a 36 foot trawler in the FL Keys, Bahamas and West Indies interviewing people who knew Ernest Hemingway for Carlos Bakers biography on Hemingway. In our travels there were very few upscale places you could dock, eat, and shower, this lead to our founding Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda. My children spent all their vacations there and my daughter Dana is the CEO today. We moved to NY City in '67 and founded a Hedge Fund, Century Capital . In the 70s I got divorced and married Frederick Coudert,a partner in the law firm Coudert Brothers. He is now deceased.
In '77 I trekked Annapurna in Nepal. I worked as a commercial realestate broker with Cross and Brown in NY City as VP. I was involved with sales of office buildings and other commercial properties. I left Cross and Brown and got involved with others in the founding of The First Womens Bank in NY. I was a Board member and then in the Office of the President in charge of business getting (this was the first bank to lend women money and give them credit cards without a husband or fathers guarantee). Because of my positions I travelled extensively throughout the world. I have been on boards of public and private companies and non-profits. I created a think tank in Palm Beach FL, Coudert Institute (coudertinstitute.com) which brings top level thinkers together. I am a licensed realestate broker in NY and FL working with residential and commerical properties as well as developing significant experience in using auctions as a disposition strategy.
