Comments:

The "children box" tells a lot of what I've been up to. Dave & I will be celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary this fall. I returned to college shortly after we married and earned a teaching degree. I've taught kindergarten, fifth grade, science & math in Wilmette, Deerfield & Northbrook. I retired in 2001. We spend 5 months in Arizona (that would be the winter) playing a lot of golf. We have a boat on Lake Michigan that fills our summers. In addition, we like to travel & spend time with family & friends.
School Story:

My favorite school story involves my 1948 Crosley. My father bought it for my 17th birthday. It came tied with a big red ribbon & bow on top. (Dave was instrumental in the presentation & fixing it up). I used to drive as many Highwood girls as would fit in it to school. Then, during the school day, the guys would tease me about moving it or turning it over. I would never know what to expect when school was out and I would look for it. I was lucky to have a car at that time, even if it was a Crosley!

What a beautiful profile of Joel Hochberger!  I barely knew Joel in high school;  his yearbook picture looks familiar, but the later photos stir no memories.  What a loss for me, as well as everyone who knew him better and his family.  I am always amazed by the dedication of the HPHS Administrators who started and maintain our Class of 1959 website.  Thank you for preserving our history.  Rose Ann Simpson (Albert)

In May of 2007, Karen Sullivan (Cheli), Connie Mordini (Linari) and I were on a "Girl's Trip" in Tuscany. We took the car ferry to Isola D'Elba for a day of exploration, driving mountain roads, discovering quaint villages & having caffe lungos.

Dave & I returned from Alaska on 7/31. Our twin granddaughters, Hannah & Haley, recent high school graduates, accompanied us. We are hiking in the Chugach National Forest near the Mendenhall Glacier. Our faves were white water rafting in Denali, watching & listening to the calving of the Hubbard Glacier from our cruise ship and following a pod of 15 humpback whales from a small excursion boat. Great memories!
