Carol Henley (Miller)

Carol Henley (Miller)

Date of death:  April 2, 2008

Age:  66

Residence at time of death:  Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Family:  Husband Robert; two sons, one daughter

Carol's life:  Carol was a social worker in New York for many years and later turned her hand to the real estate business on Long Island.  She and Robert finally retired to the outdoor paradise of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where they could indulge their love for skiing, hiking and golf.  Carol's skiing was described by friends as "beautiful" to see.

Her sister Barbara Henley (Bronner) from the HPHS class of 1964 lived next door.  Carol enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends in their home.  She had the gift of friendship.

But there was a serious side to retirement, as well.  Carol served on the board of directors of the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp, which is the nation's oldest continuously operating performing arts summer camp.  It is a place where young performers in theater and dance have an opportunity to study under professional guest artists.    Carol died peacefully in her home with her husband of 44 years and her loving family at her side.
