Trudie's Life:

There are people who have a love of the English language and a knack for rooting out grammatical errors and misplaced punctuation marks that mar the work of writers.   Trudie was one of these people.   Having moved to the beautiful Gulf Coast city of Sarasota, she took a job with a printing company as a typesetter, working daily at a keyboard.  Soon she had worked her way up to assistant editor, reading the work of authors to ensure the copy that went to press was clear and free of mistakes.   It is meticulous work, but Trudie flourished at it.   Her co-workers remember her as a dedicated professional who sought perfection in every manuscript she checked.  Eventually, she started her own "freelance" business, guiding the authors who came to her through the publishing process.

Her book editing credits include "Daily Wisdom from the Bible," "Wisdom of the Prophets" and "Stress and a Healthy Ticker."   Her niece, Amy Vermillion, would often come to Florida to visit her.  "She was the cool aunt," she remembers.   "She was a warm person who loved to laugh."   She was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music and followed current events closely.  One of her big hobbies was astrology.

Trudie was a fun friend at HPHS;  I'm glad to have known her.
