Charmaine was my best friend and what is called BFF (Best Friend Forver) by kids today, all through grade school. She was "Jane Russell" and I was "marilyn Monroe" in our fantasy world.By some strange quirk of fate, when we approached the threshold of High School, we each took a new path, made new friends and ended that bond.
I am very sad that Charmaine is gone now because I would have loved to have known her now in our senior years.
