Cause of Death:  A long battle with Muscular Dystrophy

John was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy while still in his early 20's and serving in the Army.  He received a medical discharge and returned to Highland Park to work in his father's excavating company.  When his illness grew so severe he could no longer work, he moved to his parent's home on Grange Avenue.  He was bedridden for most of his later years, but still saw to the care of his aging parents,  who by then were suffering from Parkinson's disease and dementia.  John is missed by his friends and neighbors.
