Kenneth Richard Knackstadt (Dick), 79, passed away in Fox Lake, Ill., peacefully with his family surrounding him, in the early evening on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Dick was a resident of Deerfield for 63 years, where he worked for the Deerfield Park District for 39 years and retiring in 2003. After his retirement and the death of his late wife, he then moved and was a resident of Lindenhurst for 16 years, to be closer to his daughters and other family members. 

After retirement he loved to go fishing at Eagle River in Wisconsin and spending time with his family whenever he could. He also loved to help out his neighbors, as much as possible, to make sure everyone’s lawn was cut (massaged) correctly and beautiful. He is survived by his three daughters, Kathi Zambo (Donny Villiard), Teresa Knackstadt, and Sheryl (Terrence) Kittelson, his sister Karen (Jim) Ellington, as well as, his stepson Dean (Juliet) Sanderson, and his stepdaughter Lisa (Brad) Matheson. He also is survived by his ten grandchildren, Kassondra (Michael), Devin, Michelle, Kimberly, Timothy, Katelyn, Patrick, Steven, Matthew, Benjamin, and his nephew Bill (Melody) Stein. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sheila, and his two grandsons Timothy and Kevin.
