Kim Gutner

Alyssa - graduated in 2013 w/honors from UC, Santa Cruz where she doubled majored in Community Studies and Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography. She lived near downtown San Diego with 2 girlfriends, before moving to new apt. in w/boyfriend, now husband Nick England . She worked as my sole employee - Office Manager for over a year, transitioned to facilitating startups in Clean Energy, worked at Clean Tech, San Diego for several years before applying for & completing her MBA w/High honors at Boston University. She works remotely for an Italian Utilities Co., and is Project Manager for 3 large Energy (Conserving) Projects (Kentucky, Arizona & Washington State). She teaches handicapped students skiing in the winter and is becoming a “Lead” in rock climbing, in her “spare time”!

Carly - graduated w/honors from Brandies University outside of Boston, in 2015, where she majored in International Global Studies & Journalism & played collegiate Volleyball. She will be leaving a position she created as Head of Activities, Seacrest Retirement Village in Encinitas, CA, in August 2024, to move to Barcelona Spain - where she will teach & tutor English as a second language to local students from elementary thru secondary schools.

Attended UC, Santa Barbara, College of Creative Studies - majored on Biology. Went on Semester at Sea, Spring, 1978. Worked in Santa Barbara, then attended Yale University School of Medicine. Met my ex-husband through a mutual friend. As a result, delayed moving back to CA (tough!), and did Residency in Psychiatry at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center in Westchecter and NYC. Finally moved back to CA - San Diego area - (Del Mar)- did a 2 year Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through UC, San Diego.
I worked in a variety of places and opened my solo private practice (close to home) by the end of 1990 and worked steadily for over 30 years, leaving initially on medical leave March 1, 2020, then had to retire after being hospitalized w/Covid-19 in Aspen, CO Feb 2021, developing in to Long Haul Covid, now have 2 lifelong (treatable thank God), medical conditions. I spend most of my time in Aspen; (skiing in Winter, kayaking, tennis, hiking, biking in Summer, volunteering and sponsoring thru scholarship in my folks honor an up & coming Piano Music Student for 8 weeks thru Aspen Music School every summer :) .
My family of origin’s “2nd home” has been Aspen - since Dad started bringing family here when I was 7 y.o. Life is good!
