Don Voegeli was my best friend in High School. We both looked forward to seeing each other everyday at school. We lived in such a diffrent culture , that it just made sence to be good friends. I learned so much from him through the years, as he from me. I am still shocked (even as you read this today) that he is no longer here. I have searched since after High School (1982) to try and find him, and not until just recently(2013) , I learned my best friend is really gone, and will not be coming back!!!
He was a quiet one (a Ghost). Noone ever spoke with him because he was so shy. He would slither to and from class through jock hallway, through the glass hallway, or anywhere else without anyone else even noticing him. I was very proud and lucky to have been his friend. He was the one person "most of the time", that sat alone studying in the library or anywhere else. I was the louder one, and I wasnt even that popular in school, but noticable enough! (We were so friggin opposite in every way)
As a U.S Marine, I have seen my toll of death, and even had close encounters myself- but the pain of actually having someone in your life that was close to your heart, is something that cannot be replicated with simple words.
If Anyone knows how I can get in contact with any family member that Don has still today, please let me know through the HPHS site.
**My gosh Don, this is really not a good way for you to say goodbye to me buddy.( I miss you) Damn!!
