Jeffery J Esser, age 28, of Highland, died on Monday, June 30 at his parents home following a courageous 5 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. Jeff was born on August 12, 1974 in Decorah, IA to James and Priscilla Esser. He was an Eagle Scout and a 1993 graduate of the Highland High School. Jeff served two years in the U.s. Navy during Desert Storm aboard the USS George Washington. He was a 2002 graduate of the Blue Sky School of Massage Therapy. Jeff was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip's Parish in Highland; the Highland Knights of columbus Council #1909 and the Robert Kail American Legion Post #442. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether camping or gardening. He was actively involved in Together Encountering Christ, was an Odyssey of he Mind coach and was an avid card player.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Jim & Pricilla Esser of Highland; four siblings, Michelle (Kim) Cleary of Highland, his twin sister, Jamie (Bill) Lowden of Columbus, OH, Scott Esser of Columbus, OH and Carrie Esser and special friend, Jason Davis of Menomonie, WI; his grandparents, Joseph and Mildred Esser of Highland and Loyce Mousseau of Muscoda; a niece and two nephews, Aidan Lowden; Kimberly Cleary an Jesse Cleary; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
