After 2 years in the Army where I earned my GED, I held jobs in construction, insurance, retail and chemicals. Married, moved to Montvale, back to RiverVale, the Harrington Park. Became a Police Officer with Harrington Park , left as Sgt. after 12 yrs., then Gen. Mgr. of a window treatment co., then my own business in Ny State. Divorced, then a NJ State Investigator. Re-married and moved to Paramus. Started an office cleaning business and operated it with employees for 12 yrs, became the Asst. Director of the Bergen County Police Academy, then Executive Director of the Community Policing Institute of NJ, teaching and organizing training for police officers and the community throughout the state. While a P.O. earned an Associate & Bachelors Degree in Public Safety (BCC & Mercy College), Later earned a Masters degree in Public Administration.(Fairleigh Dickinson University) Certified in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Safety and Homeland Security Programs for the Federal Gov't . Exempt Fireman from RiverVale, Montvale and Harrington Park, and a host of other organizations. Presently Adjunct Professor with Fairliegh Dickinson University and Bergen Community College as well as a NJ Certified Police Instructor and a Public Member of the Office of Attorney Ethics,Supreme Court of N.J.,Past Council Member, Paramus Borough, recently became Commander of the Paramus Ameican Legion Post # 207. I have decided to give back to the community by voluteeer teaching at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute as well as programs to many organizations.

As many of you know, I lost my beautiful wife Marilyn to pancreatic cancer October 25th, 2009, she lasted two years from the time we dicovered she was in stage #4 (a strong will to live). To those of you who lost your spouse, I now know what you feel. There is a big hole in my heart. I have decided to give back a little more than in the past. I have been transporting patients with cancer to their treatments through arrangements with the American Cancer Society, The Road to Recovery. I feel good about it and know that I'm doing the right thing, sort of a way to always remember my wife. I work out the trips around my teaching of classes at Bergen Community College. What a great worldwe would have if every person who could volunteer to help others in any fashion, do it for a couple of years.
3/22/10 I just returned from a great trip to Ixtapan Spa & Golf Resort, Mexico where I played golf and received many massages, etc. What a great place, I needed it. It's back to teaching after next week's semester break. I'm also taking on a new project for BCC at the Meadowlands that should keep me busy. Semi-retirement is good. 10/2010, working with Port Authority PD to develop a program to assist with CALEA Acreditation. Shaved my beard & mustache, lost 34 lbs. Whew! was a better feeling.
Obtained a new position with Bergen Community College in Sept 2011 as a Lecturer/Professor.I am now assigned to the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute (back where I left) and have an office in the front lobby with the purpose of bringing higher education to first responders.I also teach three criminal justice courses each semester.(good stuff)
I have been dating a nurse and having a great time. She still works a full time job, however weekends and vacations are great. We have been to Canada, Florida, Arizona, and will be leaving for LA next month. As Commander of the American Legion, built membership to 133%, Time to relax and let another enthusiastic person take over.

School Story:

I remember how Mr. Lewis (principal) would stand in front of the school to allow no one to leave during lunch. Almost every day we (about 4 guys)drove over the enbankment (about 4 ft high) and would jump to the unpaved lot for the concrete tank company, then drive by the school and honk my model"a" Ford horn as we passed and wave to him, then drive to the Italian Restaurant on Broadway to get a sandwich. He never caught us.

Do you remember when a bunch of us guys put a small car on the grass island in front of the school? The curb was about 12" high and no one could drive over or off of it. Mr. Lewis was kind of pissed, but never knew who did it. We obliged by removing it and he thanked us. He was really a nice guy.
I remmeber Hugh Casey clinbing the ropes in the gym to the top in seconds, then turning upside down and sliding to the floor in a split second, stopping inches from the floor. The coach (we called him Punchy Joe) was astounded.
Poor Miss Reid, (the science teacher)she never did figure out why the leaves on her her plants on the windowsill constantly had burned brown spots.

On a glacier in Alaska. Took copter to the top of the mountain and onto the glacier. The crevase behind us is about 1/2 mile deep

My daring wife. She poked a ski pole into the crevase.
She was wearing boots with cleats. The crevase opening was smaller than her body so she would not have fir if she slipped.
