Mary is a big part of my earliest memories. Mary and I were grade school classmates in River Vale’s two room schoolhouse on River Vale Road. Even before then her family's cider mill annually turned my grandmother’s ten acres of crab apples into cider.

Mary was always a good and sweet person. I remember her shy smile that always seemed to be there. She never demanded attention, but was always quietly a part of everything. I tend to think that stoicism continued throughout her life but like most youthful relationships, we move on remembering, but never taking stock of the value and contribution of a life until times like this. Mary’s sweet smile is part of my life and will live in my memory.

My condolences to all that will miss her.

God bless and welcome Mary.
