Graduated: Nichol’s College, 1962
US Army National Guard

I will always remember Johnny as a sweet, easy going guy, with a killer smile and sparkling eyes. He was a kind, generous and giving person. I really enjoyed watching him play football and baseball, because he loved the games and his teammates so much.

We were married for only a few years, but I have many fond memories. I remember being so worried on our honeymoon when we got a telegram – I thought it was from the Army to “report to duty” – it was from my mom telling us to have a good time! Being a member of such a large, wonderful family of Johnsons was fun, and very different for me. There was always a birthday or holiday to celebrate. Johnny helped me through some very tough times, and was loved by my family.

I’m happy to say that Johnny married again and had four children, Michelle, Stacy, Michael and Cindy. My only regret is that I didn’t have a chance to make peace before he died.

A beautiful tribute. I remember John with his high pitched voice and funny sense of humor when we played baseball and JV football together. I also remember him in the classroom with his funny quips. John was a very mice person to be around as he always had a positive attitude and an uplifting personality.
