In Memory

Kristy Baum

Kristy was born in Alamogordo NM on March 10, 1975, after a lengthy illness, her life's journey ended on March 20, 2012 at the age of 37. She moved to Hobbs NM in 1976 with her parents where she spent the next 33 years.

After high school she worked as a waitress and eventually went to work as a dispatcher for Hobbs Police Dept. During her employment at the police dept. she decided that she wanted to be a nurse. She completed the nursing program at NMJC and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse until August 2011 when her decline in health forced her to stop working. Ironically her last nursing job was as a Hospice Nurse.

Kristy made many friends during her short 37 years on this earth. She loved everyone and they loved her. Her smile was contagious she could make you smile even if you were having a bad day. She looked for the good things in people and didn't dwell on the negative aspects of life. Her glass was always half full! Kristy's favorite things to do was to take her "Girls" shopping and out to eat, but most of all she loved their "Alone" time together. She was so proud of both of her girls; her favorite saying was "My Girls, My Life". She also loved spending time with her best friend (her sister). They would often sit in the same room and text each other and never say a word. They loved to watch sad movies and make fun of each other for crying. Kristy loved water and sunsets, she loved spending time at Lake LBJ and on the beaches of Florida.

Kristy leaves behind two daughters Sydnee Marie Landrum age 17 and Addison Croft Smith age 9 both of Hobbs NM, her sister Kimberly Gonzales of Arcadia FL, and nephews Jayden and Eythan Gonzales also of Arcadia. She is also survived by her Mother Judy Levin and Step-father Jon Levin of Arcadia Fl., and Father Richard Baum and Step-mother Lezley Baum of Horseshoe Bay Tx. and an Aunt Vivian Baily of Alamogordo NM and several cousins. Kristy has always loved Angels and now she has become one. We love you Kristy, A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. This isn't goodbye it's "See Ya Later" Love you baby.
