A funeral service for Russell Russ Shelby Campbell, 47 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at Water?s Edge Assembly of God, 2249 Cherry Valley Road, Newark with Pastor Rusty Foley and Pastor Steve Osborne, officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Russ passed away unexpectedly Wednesday March 5, 2008 at his home. He was born September 22, 1960 in Hoisington, Kansas to Richard and Sue (Hawkins) Campbell. He was a 1979 graduate of Hoisington High School and a 1983 graduate of Rockhurst College. Russ worked as a Program Consultant for Ohio Job and Family Services. Russ attended Water?s Edge Assembly of God. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion; an Eagle Scout; a professional scout; and had worked as a ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimerron, New Mexico. He was an avid golfer. Above all, he was a dedicated, loving husband and father. In addition to his parents, Russ is survived by his wife of 23 years, Holly (Moran) Campbell, whom he married May 5, 1984; one daughter, Shiree Campbell of the home; a brother Robert Campbell of Hoisington, Kansas; a sister, Rana (Rick) Lynn of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; father and mother in-law, Linton and Barbara Moran of Frazeysburg; brother in-law, Gregg (Debbie) Moran of Frazeysburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to Philmont Scout Ranch or Promise Keepers. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
