Suzanne Farish

Suzanne (Suzy) Farish, joyfully transitioned on to her next journey knowing how much love and goodwill there can be in this world. Born January 31, 1951 and passed July 13, 2018. Grew up in SLC, UT. Attended Olympus High School (pep club), BYU (Angel Flight), and University of Utah (Alpha Chi Omega Sorority).
Married Allen Kent Smith, later divorced. Parents of Chelsha Smith Kirby, Christopher Allen Smith, Preston William Smith, and Emily Cecelia Hayek. Grandparents to Thomas Hayek, Maya Suzanne Kirby, Berkley Cecelia Hayek, and Isabelle Zoe Smith.
Greatest joy in life was family. Especially being a mom and “Nana.” Loved the Utah mountains & outdoors (camping, hiking, skiing, water sports, and white water rafting), beaches in Southern & Northern California, reading, sewing and doing crafts with family. Loved to travel and loved a good Adventure. “Let’s go fun-seekers!” Enjoyed living in Santa Monica, CA 13 years, and in Humboldt County, CA for 1 year.
Preceded in death by Father (William P. Farish), Mother (Hazel Carlson Farish), Brother (Richard S. Farish), and Sister-in-Law (Georgia Thornton Farish).
Survived by Children, Grandchildren, Sister (Judy Rasmussen), Brother-in-Law (Jack Rasmussen), many wonderful nieces & nephews, former Son-in-Law Justin Kirby, and special lifetime friend, love, companion, and honorary family member, Calvin Woofinden.
Suzy wishes to thank the incredible transplant team at the University of Utah hospital and the nursing staff in the Special Surgery/Transplant unit as well as the Cardiovascular ICU unit. She would like to encourage organ donation and donations to the Diabetes and/or Kidney Foundation.
Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
August 13, 2018 1-2 p.m. visitation 2:00 p.m. chapel service.
