Gary Bernard Hansen

1950 ~ 2023

Gary Bernard Hansen passed away and was relieved of mortal pains on December 10, 2023. He was born on September 30, 1950, in Salt Lake City to Peggy Pauline Ford Hansen and Bernhardt (Bernard) Hansen.

He made friends with everyone, everywhere, especially during adventures with his sweetheart wife, Marilyn McBride Hansen. Some of his favorite places to visit were the Hawaiian Islands, the red rocks of Moab, the Southern Utah Shakespeare Festival, and anywhere his four kids and their spouses, Heidi Caren Myers (Andy), Christian Bernard Hansen, Andrew Thomas Hansen (Amanda), and Emily Ann Hale (Jonathan), happened to be residing.

He was constantly learning and reading and loved to share facts, theories and a plethora of interests with his 17 beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife and children, and his sisters Nancy Sorensen (Rick) and Christy Tribe (Craig).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Grandeur Peak Ward, 3510 S. 3610 East, Millcreek, UT 84109. Two viewings will be held at the same ward building: the first from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday December 17 and the second at 10:00 AM before the funeral services. Graveside services will follow at the Memorial Mountain View Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Service will be livestreamed at Memorialutah.com
