Kenneth Shaffer Obituary

Nov. 21, 1959 - Oct. 28, 2025

Kenneth L. Shaffer, 65, of East Freedom entered the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday. He was born in Indiana, PA, son of Lincoln and the late Louise (Greene) Shaffer. He married his childhood sweetheart, Kimberly Walters in 1981.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years; one daughter, Leah Babb and husband, Ben in SC; one son, Andrew Sr. and wife, Goldie in VA; four grandchildren: Delaney, Calvin, Andrew Jr., and Jolene; his father in Roaring Spring; and a brother, James and wife, Pat.

Ken graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1978 and obtained his associates degree in electrical design at Penn State Altoona.

He retired from Bechtel Power Corporation in 2021 after 40 plus years as an electrical designer.

Ken was a Deacon at The Martinsburg Church of God.                  

He enjoyed spending time with family, all things Penn State, golfing, and taking walks at Canoe Creek with his beloved dog Gerdie. He also enjoyed supporting his nieces and nephews at their sporting events.

The family would like to thank the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital ninth floor TCTU unit for all their care. 

Friends will be received from 9:30-11am, Saturday November 1, 2025, at Juniata Valley Gospel Church where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11am.

Interment at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
