Is there any other information at all about Ed Doucet? Please notify Ray Adams. He must have called me just before whatever happened and my roommate at the time was not a message taker. It was his house! I only got a message from my mom a week later. I've been trying to track him for years.
Thank you for your information Mark Marovich. I am Class of 1976, Ed was Class of 1975. I know there is not much available. What I know Of Edward Doucet I will post here. He had been living in South Forida, he working at the Phone Company. I was in Georgia in school 1976 - 1986. Ed had gotten married but I forget the exact date. It was the early 1980's. It was a combined Jewish and Christian ceremony. They moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After I started working for The State of Florida in 1986 I started taking vacations in NC and I'd call Ed. I would leave phone messges but I have not spoken to him since. My Mother received a phone message from him one night in 2004 but I did not get it until after he had called the house I was renting and he spoke to the owner (who was not a nice person after 7:00pm). I had never been able to get in touch with
Ed or track him down.
Obituary - I post what I found from Find-a-grave, but also more information from my own personal knowledge. I know Ed used to take Glenn Hallock, Joe Conway, Dik Saafeld and sometimes me if available Deep Sea Fishing from Haulover Marina, Miami. Shortening this, Ed had obtained his Captain's License! This was during our Senior year and right after he had Graduated. He had also obtained his Private Pilot's License a few years later in about 1980, more or less. Now, officially, Edward Arnold Doucet born in 1955 deceased 30 June 2004 at home. His home had been in Kings Mountain, NC. He was Married to Susanne Rebinger Doucet, had 4 sons and a daughter. He had retired from the Phone Company and had recently begun taking classes at Cleveland Community College in Broadcasting and was serving an Internship at WLON, Lincolnton, NC. He was laid to rest in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Cleveland County, NC. - Submitted by Ray Adams 76
