LaVern I Mallacoccio, Jr., 77, Elmira, NY born Dec 8, 1946 died Thurs, April 4, 2024 at  home after an extended illness.  Survived by his wife, Joann (Stedge) of 55 years, son LaVern and wife Lisa and daughter Angela Todzia all of Elmira.  10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, brother Ronald of ELmira; sisters Linda Savona of Corning and Pam Lain of Millerton.

LaVern was a wounded and decorated Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army receiving 2 purple hearts.  He work for the U.S. Postal Service in Elmira retiring in 2003 as a letter carrier.  Also, he worked for the Elmira City School District and Target.  Last address was 906 East Ave., Elmira.
