It is with sincere sorrow we let you know that Patty Charwat has passed away as a result of dementia and a motor vehicle accident in Steuben County.  After the accident and months of rehabilitation, she was residing in a nursing home in Ithaca until the time of her death.  She retired from Horseheads High School as a teacher.  Patty also was a caregiver for her mother for over a decade. She enjoyed horseback riding locally with another classmate, Deborah Smith.  Patty lived a good life and enjoyed many years of caring for her canine animals.                                            Lynch Funeral Home will be in charge of Patty's arrangements.
