Ed's sister, Sharon Taylor Smith, shari129@aol.com wrote that Ed did not complete his senior year with the class.  He served in the service for 10 years. On Oct. 12, 2009, Ed died of esophogeal cancer. He lived near his family in Wilmington, NC.
