After 43 years on 11 acres in Hilltown, in a house Neil and I built I made the difficult decision to move. After Neil's death I pondered what I would do with the rest of my life. Taking care of a house, historic 3 story stone barn, huge carriage house, 8 classic or antique cars, two full size farm tractors, and lawns and fields that had become my life's work without the shared responsibility. I realized I wanted to be able to walk on sidewalks instead of fighting the increasing traffic on my once rural road! I also wanted more time to travel, quilt and pursue other things.

I didn't start out to move. I liked looking at open houses. It was fun, gave me something else to do, and was something Neil and I used to do from time to time,  I stumbled into a brand new house house in a brand new neighborhood in Perkasie, where everyone was also starting over! Only 1/4 acre to mow, bike paths close by and in town but still with that private feel. I back up to pine trees. and I realized that this was the place from which I could start over!

I spent the entire summer packing, cleaning out and moving most of the boxes myself. My wonderful children helped with smaller pieces of furniture and the eventual 2 -30 yard dumpsters to finish with all the disposable odds and ends. The moving company took care of the large stuff.

I settled August 9th, the big stuff was moved on the 23rd of August.  I just settled the selling of the old house on November 13th! Throw into that mess a 10 day trip to Portugal and a five day trip to Houston- both in October. But that's another story...
