Baseball Trip Across the Country

This past summer, I took my oldest grandson, Matthew, on a baseball trip across the country. We did 5 ballparks in 8 days: Wrigley Field, Minute Maid Park, Oracle Park, Kauffman Stadium, and Busch Stadium. In each case, we cheered for the home team. In each case, the home team lost... Was it us?  When Kansas City played Houston, Houston won. When San Francisco played the Cubs, the Cubs won. We were able to tour Chicago and San Francisco. We had 7 flights on Southwest, and stayed at 5 different hotels, each within walking distance of the parks. According to our Fitbits, we did 45 miles walking in one week. San Francisco had the best ballpark food and Kansas City had the most beautiful park (fountains and fireworks). In San francisco, before the game begins, you are given instructions on what to do and where to go in the event of an earthquake. Hmm--interesting... Luckily, we had no problems. My daughter-in-law told us we were crazy. Crazy is fun!
