WALTER ALLEN DECOURSEY (1948-2005)
Walter DeCoursey was born on Dec 23, 1948. He was the only child of Walter C and Clara DeCoursey of Hatboro.
Affectionately called “Corky” by his childhood friends, he carried the nickname throughout high school.
He was active in band, track, cross country and wrestling. (He was 1966 Buxmont champion at 103 lbs)
A good student, Walt was accepted into the Engineering School at Drexel University.
Tragically, while attending college, Walt overdosed on LSD and suffered irreparable brain damage. Unable to function in any meaningful way, he remained in the care of his parents in his boyhood home on James Rd for the rest of his life.
He died of cancer in 2005.

Walt was a neighbor, and our mothers were friendly. He was a nice kid. Nick named "Corkey"

Walt was my running buddy on the track team. He was also an excellent wrestler. He had a great sense of humor and personality. Several times our paths crossed after high school.

So sorry we won't be able to see "Corky." He was such a sweet guy...

Corky! I always liked calling his name. Corky lived across the street from me and he is a part of my childhood memories. We were just kids and used to wrestle on my front lawn. His father scolded him for wresling with a girl, but I reassured Corky's dad that it was fine with me. We were kids together and it was fun. I am sorry he has gone on.
