Richard Baldwin

Richard Harry Baldwin son of Richard W. and Dorothy Will Baldwin, was born May 23, 1944 in Chicago IL, and died December 27, 1970 at the age of 26 years, five months and three days.

He was united in marriage to Willa Jean Parker of Houston and to this union three children were born.

He became a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston on June 21, 1969.

Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Houston High School and had attended Southwest Baptist College in Boliver,MO. At the time of death he was employed with the City of Springfield Engineering Department.  He was attending Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, where he was a junior in the field of industrial education. He spent the weekends at his home near Clara with his family. He was also a member of the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship on the SMS campus.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and the grandparents, with whom he lived in Houston,Mr. and Mrs. Harry Will.

Survivors are his wife, Willa Jean of the home; two daughters, April Dawn and Ann Marie and one son Richard, Jr.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday, December 30,1970, at the First Baptist Church of Houston with the Rev. John E. Mathews officiating.  Interment was in the Pinelawn Cemetery with Evans-Elliott Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Larry Holder

Richard was my buddy from the 7th grade till his death. He was a great friend. He always had something good to say about everybody. They don't come any better than.
