Somer was born to Herbert H. Hatch, Jr. and Kathryn M. (Hatch) Bizzell, on March 7, 1981, Houston, Texas, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. 

She is survived by: her husband, Frank S. Martinez; five children Kash, Kallie and Kenzie Zvolensky, Andrew Alexander Tibbits and Elescia Magan Martinez; her father, Herbert Hatch, Jr. (Barbara Hatch); her mother, Kathryn Mary Bizzell (Don Bizzell); her brother, Bradley R. Hatch, his wife Clare and children Chase, Ava, and Dylan; her sister, Kathi Goedrich, her husband Randy and son Jonathan and fiancé Chailey Wilchek. Also cherished in memory are the Martinez Family, her aunts and uncles Cherri and Mike Marks, Jimmie Groves, Ron and Debbie Suttle, Steve and Christine Suttle as well as numerous cousins, all of whom she loved and enjoyed their visits. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and sister.

Somer graduated from Broadway Baptist School in 1999. She attended Broadway Baptist School from 3K through high school making many, many lifelong friends. She was Baptized and received her First Communion at St. Christopher Catholic Church and received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Christ the King Catholic Church. Fr. Felix, Pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, administered to Somer the Sacrament of Last Rites on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Somer enjoyed life, plain and simple. She loved her family, her children, her friends. She had a beautiful presence about her with a quick smile and a contagious laugh.

A Celebration of her Life is scheduled Tuesday, January 7, 2025, visitation with family at 1:00 p.m. with service commencing 2:00 p.m. followed by lunch at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX. 77023.
