Crystal Lynn Salinas (Schulz) was born on January 25, 1978 in Houston, Texas to Dale and Karen Schulz (Nichols). She attended Broadway Baptist School from first through twelfth grade, where she was a cheerleader and played volleyball, softball, and basketball. Despite her fairly shy demeanor, she was elected Homecoming Queen four consecutive years and made many lifelong friends. She graduated Salutatorian in 1996. Crystal also forged close friendships with co-workers at Allen Samuels Chrysler during her time there. She was a natural beauty whose vibrant smile and laugh could light up any room. She always had a love for animals, especially dogs. Sunflowers were her favorite, and cardinals held a special place in her heart, as her mother and grandmother both adored them.
Crystal went to be with our Lord at age 37, peacefully passing away at the residence of her father in Cypress, Texas on the evening of Tuesday, June 2. She will always be remembered…
Crystal is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Karen Lynn Barker (1951-2007). The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Detective Hoff of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for his compassion and diligence; his fellow officers and staff, especially Tamara Young-Niquette, who has provided a wealth of information and support; the first responders; the emergency medical technicians who so gently transported Crystal home; and the kind, diligent nurses who cared for Crystal during her stay at Conroe Regional Medical Center. We would also like to express our gratitude to Jovita Franklin, who selflessly sacrificed time with her own family to manage Crystal's medical needs in her final days; your calming presence, expertise, and kindness eased our stress and worry, making those last precious days more bearable. We thank God for sending you to us and are eternally grateful.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 in the morning at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Boulevard, Katy, Texas 77494. Immediately following, the family would like to invite all of you to join us for lunch and a celebration of her life.
