I remember Lydia as being a shy, quite person. I pray that she is in God's presence.

Lydia and I were good friends while we were in drill team together.  She was a real sweetheart and dear friend.

Lydia and I became close friends in high school.  I have many happy memories spent at her home and long phone conversations on the phone with her about "boys" and other important things.  She had a great laugh that came so easily for her and she was wise beyond her years.  A friend who told you what you needed to hear not necessarily what you wanted to hear (although I'm sure she sometimes did say those things I wanted to hear!).  I'll never forget our long bike rides to Baskin Robbins and her taking us to the mall in her father's big brown car.  She loved her family and her puppy "Dino."  My only regret is that we didn't stay in touch after high school.  I know she married the love of her life - Johnny and had a daughter and I'm sure she lived a full and happy life - which she truly deserved.  May God bless her family and may Lydia rest in peace until the day we meet again!  Irma Hermosillo Henderson

It seems like I knew Lydia my entire life-at least as far back as I can remember. She was one of my closest and dearest friends. We shared so many new experiences together: liking boys, learning to drive, working and going to the disco or Galveston beach almost every weekend. It seems like I lived at her house-we'd eat her Mom's freshly made tortillas, we'd practice dancing polkas. We'd take long drives around Houston, once ending up in the Ship Channel area and not realizing how we put ourselves in danger. Somehow we made it. It was a fun journey growing up with Lydia. Even just before she left us, I could always pick up the phone and call her if I had a question or just wanted to laugh and I still want to do that today. I miss her.
