Vicki Slack Poorman

            1949 -2026 

Vicki Sue Slack was born on Oct. 1, 2949.  She and our classmate Wayne Poorman were dear friends for 63 years and married for over 51 years.  She passed away February 8, 2026.  
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

From Wayne:
We will have a Celebration of Life Ceremony to honor Vicki Sue Slack Poorman, who passed away after a courageous bout with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis earlier this year. 

The ceremony will be held Saturday June 20 at 10:30 am at the Butterfly Garden of Seabourne Creek Nature Park in Rosenberg, TX. 

The Outdoors was always a major part of Vicki’s life. She was an avid Texas Master Naturalist and worked diligently to help develop Seabourne Creek Nature Park. 

We will have a release of nearly 200 Monarch Butterflies. Each person will get their own packet to release. It should be spectacular. 

Afterwards we will adjourn to the Rosenberg Civic Center for a BBQ luncheon. Bring your pictures and favorite remembrances of Vicki to share.

Dress will be summer casual. If you’d like, wear something yellow. That was Vicki’s favorite color. 

En leu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists, First Methodist Church of Cameron Texas, or Houston Methodist Hospital ALS Clinic.
